Conversational Tone
- Remember that there may be different opinions expressed in the forum. This is to be respected and seen as enrichment - we want to keep up a conversation with each other.
- In the forum a nice and friendly tone is expected. Do not forget that on the other line there is also human beings sitting! Consider this: Good will gets you more easily further down the way.
- Do not write something you would not also say personally to the addressee. First read, then think, then read again, and then post it... The risk of misunderstandings is especially high in a written, computerized medium.
- Make sure you have understood the author of the post to which you want to reply correctly. Respond to the content of the post.
- Avoid long monologues and do not post long copied texts. Better use quotes and links, which gets a discussion more easily started and en route.
- Make sure that you clearly mark your ironical comments. Facial expressions and gestures can not be conveyed in the written exchange. This can lead to misunderstandings.
Questions & Answers
Remember that questions are always answered voluntarily and those trying to help give their best. So make an effort in the formulation, spelling and formatting. Sentences without commas and stops are difficult to reaad.
Understandable questions (together with the answers) can often help many other readers!
Respect for the feelings of others
The forum is open to anyone who is willing to enter into a fruitful discussion. The feelings of the discussion partner are to be respected.
No-Gos
It is explicitly prohibited to
- use expressions which glorify violence, are discriminatory, inhuman or criminal
- link to pages with such content
- link to pages not related to the topic or for commercial purposes and the publication of email addresses
- post personal attacks, insults, slander and defamatory expressions.
